Fans are the heart of the suction excavator

RSP gives every customer the option of choosing the appropriate suction capacity for his areas of activity from the standard range of single to quadruple fans. The service life is significantly affected by the connection and start-up conditions as well as the balance quality and running smoothness. All RSP fans are balanced with high accuracy and are started up slowly by means of hydraulic oil clutches. This soft start and throttled run-up substantially reduce the loading on the drive motor.

 

The suction capacity of all RSP fans can be optimally matched to the requirements of the task by means of three power stages. Power is transmitted by means of toothed belts (double fan and above) which significantly reduces the bearing load. Full encapsulation reduces the working noise level. The start-up clutch and bearings are cooled with filtered external air. All RSP fans are fitted with a central lubrication system which is monitored for correct operation.

Single fan

The impeller is made of special high-strength steel with a diameter of 900 mm. A special hydraulic start-up coupling is responsible for soft-starting the fan. Every RSP fan is fitted with this start-up coupling, as it is an important component for the life of the engine and drive train.


The separately mounted lubrication distributor enables the top and bottom bearings to be serviced in one operation. Suction distances up to 10 m vertically and up to 25 m horizontally can be achieved with this equipment depending on the material.

High-capacity single fan

The high-capacity single fan is the optimum fan for working in the immediate vicinity of the machine. The special fan bearings have been designed for use in high speed ranges. The fan bearings are automatically lubricated at regular intervals by the central lubrication system.

 

In the event of an emergency, the air stream is immediately cut off by the gate valve which is fitted to every RSP machine. Suction distances up to 15 m vertically and up to 50 m horizontally can be achieved with this equipment depending on the material.

Double fan

This double fan (DV) has been specially developed to RSP specifications. As well as outstanding performance data, optimum mounting situations and simple service have also been taken into account.

The fan can optionally be driven by the engine by means of an NMV power takeoff or via an intermediate gearbox in the prop shaft. The toothed belt drive guarantees highly accurate synchronisation of the impellers and significantly reduces bearing load. Automatic central lubrication, internal separate cooling and a switchable air flap are further quality features. Suction distances up to 45 m vertically and up to 120 m horizontally can be achieved with this equipment depending on the material.

Triple fan

Our high-performance triple fan is an expert when it comes to extreme suction tasks. Consisting of double fan and hydraulically driven switchable single fan, it provides effective suction over distances of up to 150 m horizontally and 50 m vertically depending on the material. The single and double fans can optionally be operated separately or in combination.

Quadruple fan

The high-capacity quadruple fan is the first choice for the most extreme tasks over tremendous distances. It consists of two double fans of the same design which can also be operated separately.

The first double fan group is driven via an intermediate gearbox and the second double fan group is operated by the NMV power takeoff. Suction distances up to 200 m horizontally and 60 m vertically can be achieved depending on the material.
